The tyre size helps a fitter identify a compatible replacement. The size is usually printed on the tyre sidewall as a sequence of numbers and letters, for example 205/55 R16 followed by load and speed ratings.
Where to look for the tyre size
If it is safe to do so, read the markings on the sidewall of the tyre that needs replacing. Take care around traffic and never crawl under a vehicle or place yourself in an unsafe position. The vehicle handbook or tyre information label may also help, but the correct specification should be confirmed for your particular vehicle.
